Representative Matters:
- Established numerous entity types, including wholly foreign-owned enterprises (WFOEs), joint ventures (JVs), representative offices, and domestic Chinese companies.
- Structured, registered, and navigated the licensing requirements for companies across a broad spectrum of industries such as energy, manufacturing, food and beverage, education, consulting, raw materials, and consumer products.
- Provided clients with a full suite of investment documents for business ranging from the startups to later stage companies.
- Supplied employers with a full range of employment contracts including, employee contracts, employee handbooks, offer & termination letters, and nondisclosure agreements..
- Reviewed and drafted purchase and supply contracts, OEM agreements, and lease contracts for companies in a variety of industries.
- Advised a China-based sports management and licensing company on their China entry strategy, managed all contractual matters between them and a major overseas-listed Chinese social media company and negotiated with overseas app companies seeking to supply sports apps to the Chinese market.
- Consulted with various Italian trading companies on their intentions to set up entities and operations in Greater China including Taiwan, Hong Kong and the PRC.
- Led negotiations for a Chinese investment in a Mongolian copper mine, coordinating with Mongolian counsel and the PRC Tax Bureau and SAFE.
- Advised US clients on manufacturing products in China and seeking trademarks and business entities in five export jurisdictions including the United States, Australia, Canada, the UK and the EU.
- Counseled a US athletic profiling company on PRC internet licensing, entity establishment, and marketing strategies.
- Assisted an Irish machine tool company on PRC trademark filing and registration after encountering similar registered trademarks and possible opposition.
- Consulted with a Brazilian private equity group on their discussions with PRC infrastructure SOEs to build bridges and ports for key Brazilian cities.
- Advised a Bahamas entertainment management company on PRC business strategies including feasibility of different entity establishments and intellectual property protection for represented high profile individuals.
International Practice

Dispute Resolution Price Cao has a proven track record of successful dispute resolution results in China and abroad. We’ve represented foreign companies, PRC entities, and individuals in litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Our dispute resolution practice covers a broad range of cases, from commercial disputes, to employment litigation, to personal injury and other torts. We’ve worked with clients at all stages, from filing and responding to complaints through appeals.
Representative Matters:
- Achieved a settlement of over USD $8 million in a plaintiff’s case involving a Chinese company copying the plaintiff’s trade secret.
- Awarded a judgement in the Beijing Superior Court for the legal rights to a disputed trademark.
- Won an award against a real estate company that failed to fulfill its payment obligations to a software company.
- Secured a successful judgement for a German individual who sued a Chinese employer for unpaid salary and bonuses.
- Received compensatory damages of over USD $30,000 for an automobile accident victim against an insurance company.
- Successfully obtained rent compensation for a food and beverage company that was unduly ousted by a landlord.
- Obtained an arbitration award for an international private equity firm in a contract dispute with a Chinese company.
- Advised a US software service provider in a Hong Kong lawsuit against a US software manufacturer and a Singapore telecommunications service provider.
Intellectual Property
Price Cao has assisted multinational businesses and local Chinese companies with protecting their intellectual property in China and abroad. We offer comprehensive trademark and patent protection, from registration, to responding to actions from the government, to sending and responding to cease and desist letters.
We also assist companies with IP assets transfers, licensing agreements, and IP due diligence. When applicable, our international lawyers work directly with foreign counsel to provide clients with a global view of IP protection.
Representative Matters:
- Assisted a China-based travel networking platform choose classes, subclasses, submit an intent to use trademark application for US trademarks.
- Negotiated with a prominent European clothing manufacturer to persuade them not to bring an opposition action against a client’s PRC and US trademark filing.
- Enforced a client’s trademarks and design patents through grassroots evidence collection of infringing products used to win an action against the infringing parties.
- Assisted in a EU company’s patent translation and eventual filing in the PRC, using appropriate technical professionals to ensure a high quality submission.

Omario Kanji practices corporate law and advises on Chinese business strategy. Omario began his legal career in securities law, assisting Chinese companies going public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He has since assisted clients in their corporate growth, intellectual property management and global business strategies. Omario’s clients include tech start-ups, automotive cleantech ventures, art dealers, real estate developers, food and beverage companies and construction material manufacturers.
Omario has resided in Beijing for over five years and speaks fluent Mandarin, Spanish, French and Italian. Most recently he has developed legal and business relationships in Mongolia, Angola and Brazil. Omario is licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
